Forging steel balls with a pneumatic hammer has many advantages:
Steel balls can be forged using a pneumatic hammer with little investment, fast running, and can come in a wide range of sizes. Steel balls have good impact resistance, high toughness, good wear resistance, are nonbreakable, and are always round. A pneumatic hammer forges the hot metal billet using a round die, and the piece becomes round. Because forging preserves the metal flow, forging is generally better mechanically than casting the same material because it eliminates the metal casting defects, optimizing the microstructure.
